You went there.
Write about it.

Who We're Looking For
Who we're looking for

A boarding school graduate, now in college

You attended a US boarding school for at least two years and graduated. You have first-hand experience and the perspective to reflect on it honestly.

What makes a great writer

Honest. Specific. Yours.

Not the admissions brochure version. The real version — what surprised you, what was hard, what you wish you'd known before you arrived.

You Don't Need

Writing experience

We provide a chapter template and editorial support. You don't need to be a writer — you need to have been there.

Time Commitment

2–4 weeks, part-time

Most writers complete their guide in 2–4 weeks working a few hours per week. We work around your schedule.

What you get

More than a byline. A real credential.

01
Published byline on a real platform

Your name, school, and graduating year on every article. Linkable and shareable on LinkedIn or your resume.

02
Portfolio piece for journalism, education, or consulting

A published long-form guide with real readership. Useful if you're interested in education, media, or advisory careers.

03
Full PrepMaster access — free

Complimentary access to PrepMaster's SSAT and boarding school prep platform for the duration of your contribution.

04
Impact that reaches students

Your guide will be read by students preparing for the exact experience you had. The information you wish you had before you went.

What we need

The stuff no one else publishes.

Dorm life in detail

Roommate dynamics, what to actually pack, fire code surprises, late-night snack strategies.

Academic survival

Harkness table as a new student, building teacher relationships, GPA management from day one.

Social dynamics

How friend groups form, weekend life, school traditions that matter.

International student perspective

Jet lag, airport logistics, language barriers, Korean student networks.

Hidden systems

How the Disciplinary Committee works, advisor relationships, college counseling strategies.

School-specific details

The things unique to your school that you can only know by being there.

What We Want
Honest

Not the admissions brochure version. The real version — what surprised you, what was hard, what you wish you'd known.

Specific

Not 'the academics are rigorous.' Tell us about the paper you rewrote four times, the teacher who changed how you think.

Yours

Your voice, your perspective. We're not looking for polished prose — we're looking for authentic experience.
